Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Writer Abhishek Makwana Dies Due To Suicide; He Was A Victim Of Cyber Loan Blackmail Conspiracy, Claims Family
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s writer Abhishek Makwana who died due to suicide, was blackmailed as he borrowed money from a money loaning app, reveals his family
It was last week when one of the writers of popular sitcom Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, Abhishek Makwana was reported to have died due to suicide. In his suicide note he has mentioned of financial issues being the reason behind it. Now his family has revealed the deceased writer being prey to a cyber loan trap, that led him to take this drastic action. Also this whole app lending circle being fake, as after the writer’s death his family started receiving fraudsters' calls asking for payback, Abhishek had signed as a guarantor for a loan.
The late writer was facing financial crunch in the last couple of months. Abhishek’s brother Jenis in talks with Mumbai Mirror shared being in Ahmedabad when his brother was found dead in Mumbai; followed by figuring out his brother being a victim of fraud financial trap. The writer's brother mentioned their family receiving calls from fraudsters demanding back their money, and when the family informed of not being in a position, they faced abuses from them. Post which he also checked his brother’s phone, with calls received by his brother being made from Bangladesh, Myanmar and different parts of India.
Jenis says, “I checked my brother’s mails because ever since he passed away, I got multiple phone calls from different numbers demanding to be paid back loans he owed someone. One call was a number registered in Bangladesh, one in Myanmar and others were from different states of India.” As he looked for information on his brother’s phone, he understood, his brother had taken a loan of a very small amount, interest of which was way too high. Later though his brother did not ask for more loan they kept on sending him small amounts. He also figured these apps have been involved in online cyber scams.
Continuing further he said, “From what I understood from the email records, my brother first took a small loan from one of the ‘easy loan’ apps that charge a very high rate of interest. I looked at the transactions between them and my brother closely after that. I noticed that they kept sending small amounts despite my brother not applying for the loans. Going through his brother’s messages, Jenis also got to know Abhishek was being blackmailed, followed by informing his brother’s friends not to pay any heed to these calls as they too had received these fraud calls.
The official of Charkop police station in charge of this case, spoke about the suicide note penned in Gujarati, the cop said, “It spoke about difficulties in his personal life as well as financial troubles that he had been facing over the past many months. Also the cops in charge of this case mentioned the family sharing all the call records of the writer, the cop added, “We have approached the bank for the transaction details and the phone service providers for the call data records. Right now, there is no solid evidence of the fraud or that the company was harassing the deceased. As and when we establish anything, we will proceed with the necessary action against the company.”
