Actress Munmun Dutta, who essays the character of Babita Iyer in television's popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has drawn ire of social media. The actress is not only being trolled for one of her latest comments but Twitteratis have also started trending a hashtag stating the actress' arrest by using #ArrestMunmunDutta.
It all started when in one of her recent videos on YouTube, she went on using the word 'bhangi'. Munmun in her video was seen saying ,'Maine lipstick ko halka sa blush ki tarah apne cheeks par laga diya hai because main YouTube pe aane waali hoon and bhangi ki tarah nahi dikhna chahti. This statement has irked netizens to an extent that they have are not just erupted but also demanding her arrest for using castiest slur.
Looking at the reactions Munmun Dutta deleted the video and have issued an apology on her social media handles. But the videos have gone viral with the hashtag on Twitter tagging Mumbai Police. Here are a few posts:

Meanwhile, in her apology post Munmun Dutta has mentioned, "This is in reference to a video that I posted yesterday where in one word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent to insult, intimidate, humiliate or hurt anyone's feelings."
"Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of its meaning I immediately took the part down. I have utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to our Society or nation."
She concluded, "I sincerely would like to apologize to every single person who has been unintentionally hurt by the usage of the word."
