TV Actress Preetika Chauhan Gets Bail In NCB Drug Probe
Television actress Preetika Chauhan, who was arrested by NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) on 25 October has been granted bail by the magistrate's court.
Television actress Preetika Chauhan, who was arrested by NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) on 25 October has been granted bail by the magistrate's court. The actress was caught red handed with 99 grams of ganja at the time of arrest. Another Faisal Yasin Shaikh who is said to be the peddler from whom she got drugs, was also given bail.
As per a report in TOI, Preetika and Faisal have been released on the execution of a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and furnishing surety of like amount. The report further states that the court directed that they attend the NCB office for four Saturdays to assist in the investigations and the bail was granted by the court on grounds that the quantity of drugs seized from her is small and the punishment is less than a year and it is triable by the magistrate court. The actress who have been part of shows like Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, Savdhaan India and Devo ke Dev Mahadev during the arrest was caught red handed by NCB officials. The NCB officials were reportedly in plain clothes, and were stationed at two places in Mumbai's Versova. Five people were arrested in the operation. The team of Mumbai Zonal Unit seized 99 grams of Ganja from Preetika and another man named Faisal. Both of them were arrested and produced before the court. This report comes in the wake of the drug probe by the NCB after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The investigation into the drugs probe intensified further after certain WhatsApp messages of Rhea Chakraborty allegedly discussing drugs surfaced. As the investigation went on, several names from the film industry like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Sharaddha Kapoor emerged as well, and a few actors were summoned by the NCB for questioning.
