Vaibhavi Upadhyaya FUNERAL: Actress' Last Journey Begins As Mortal Remains Being Taken To Mumbai’s Borivali West; Fans Say ‘Gone Too Soon’

‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ fame Vaibhavi Upadhyaya died in a road accident on Tuesday after her car lost control at a steep turn. She was traveling with her fiance Jay Suresh Gandi to Himachal Pradesh when the speeding vehicle slipped into a valley during a turn on the road. The actress’ mortal remains have been brought back to Mumbai by her brother and her last rites will take place today, May 24.
The late actor will be cremated at Mumbai’s Borivali West. Her mother and some family members have reached for the funeral. In a video that is shared on a paparazzo’s Instagram account, Vaibhavi’s body was seen taken to the crematorium as her final journey begins. Her mother was seen in state of shock and looked heartbroken. Some of Vaibhavi’s industry friends including Gautam Rode, and producer JD Majethia were spotted at the funeral. In the pictures, Vaibhavi's family looked devasted while performing the last rites.
Reacting to the video, many fans expressed their shock and mourned the sad demise of the actor. Announcing the sad news of Vaibhavi’s demise, the family released a statement that read, “It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you about the death of our beloved daughter and sister VAIBHAVI UPADHYAYA (25/07/1984-22/05/2023). Last ritual rites (Smashan Yatra) will start at 1pm from 505, Mehta Premier, Above Kohinoor Showroom. S.V. Road, Borivali west to Babhai Hindu Smashan Bhoomi, Babhai Naka, Borivali West. IN GRIEF Dilip Chandrakant Upadhyaya, Chetna Dilip Upadhyaya, Jinal Suketu Thakkar, Ankit Dilip Upadhyaya (sic).”
Vaibhavi’s Sarabhai co-stars Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghvan, Satish Shah, Deven Bhojani, JD Majethia, and others offered their condolences to the late actress.
For the unversed, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya is best known for playing the role of Jasmine in the TV show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai.
