Anupam Shyam had been suffering from a kidney disease for the past one-and-a-half years. His brother Anurag Shyam opened up about his condition in an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE.com in July, 2020. The actor also had to face a lot of financial issues owing to his ill-health and growing debts. Actors Manoj Bajpayee and Sonu Sood among others had then come forward to help him. Anupam Shyam faced a major health scare last year due to his kidney ailment. The actor, however, recovered and was soon back in action to shoot for his iconic show -- and the character of Sajjan Singh. He still had to periodically undergo dialysis -- thrice a week.
"He is breathing but doctors have lost hope. Today is his sixth day of being admitted in the Goregaon hospital," Anupam Shyam's younger brother Anurag told SpotboyE this evening.
Anupam Shyam told SpotboyE in March, 2021, "Health oopar neechey rehti hai but I am much better than before. My dialysis is still on and I have to go for it thrice a week. So, I complete my work and go to the hospital in the evening. The production team cooperates with me completely. Hence, I don't find it hectic."
"Life has its ups and downs, but we have to keep going on. And I am also doing the same," he added.
