Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Actor Hrishikesh Pandey Opens Up About His Divorce: ‘We Lacked Compatibility As A Couple’
Actor Hrishikesh Pandey, who has been a part of the popular television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, talks about his divorce, and why he kept silent about his relationship falling apart for so long
Television actor Hrishikesh Pandey, who has been a part of shows such as CID and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has opened up about his divorce from Trisha Dubash. The two got married in 2004, however, their marriage hit a rough patch and the two started living separately in 2014. They later filed for divorce, and their divorce was finalized in March 2021. Now, while speaking to ETimes, Hrishikesh Pandey has opened up about the issues that he faced, and why they started living separately.
Hrishikesh said that he and Trisha lacked compatibility as a couple. “We started living separately, as we didn’t want things to get ugly. I was quiet for all these years because I have always respected my privacy. I can talk about it now, as the divorce is through,” he said. However, despite it all, they aren’t on bad terms with each other, and they handled their separation maturely. He said that Trisha and his in-laws have been very supportive about the decision to part ways.
Hrishikesh and Trisha have a 12 year old son Dakshay, and his custody has been granted to the actor. He said that he kept his personal life under wraps mostly because he didn’t want his son to read stories about his separation at such a young age. As he didn’t wish for his son to live alone while he was away shooting, Hrishikesh got his admission done in a hostel.
“We share a great bond and he understands the rigours of my profession. He also shares a great bond with his mother and her parents. Though I have been granted his custody, he is free to meet his mother whenever he wishes to,” he said.
