HIT OR FLOP: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Dance Deewane, Naagin 3?
Your weekly dope on the ongoing TV shows. The results of Week 35 (August 25-31) will see makers of a few shows smiling from ear to ear, while others will have to put in some extra effort
Week 35 (August 25-31) brought good news for two shows –
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. While the
comedy show moved from 5 to 3, the latter went from 8 to 6. A few days ago, we
had told you that after losing Kavi Kumar Azad, who essayed the role of Dr
Hathi in Taarak Mehta, the makers have been looking for his replacement but
have been unsuccessful until now. We aren’t surprised considering he was a
popular name and his shoes are hard to fill.
Naagin 3 continued its winning streak and was at No. 1,
yet again. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata has been going strong for a few weeks now and
in Week 35 too, stayed put at No. 2. Ekta Kapoor’s Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum
Bhagya acquired the 4th and 5th position respectively. You may
recall, the latter was ousted from Top 5 in Week 34 but now, it has made its
way back. It will be interesting to see if the show moves further up the
ladder.

Even as Kumkum Bhagya made its way back to Top 5, Dance
Deewane, was ousted from it. This is the first time in several weeks that the
dance reality show has witnessed such a drop. However, from the looks of it,
it’s a temporary slip and we wouldn’t be surprised if it moves up next week.
Finally, Ishq Subhan Allah, which went missing from Top
10 in the past 2 weeks returned to the leader board in Week 35. Will it be able
to sustain its spot? Time will tell.
