Gopi Bahu aka Devoleena Bhattacharjee is celebrating
her birthday today. We sat down for a chat with her and she was as candid as
ever. Excerpts from the conversation:
Wishing you a very happy birthday! How are you
celebrating the day?
Thank you. Nothing planned as of now but my birthdays are
synonymous with fun; waiting for the celebrations to begin. I enjoy when I
get extra love from my family and friends. I do wait for it but, at the same
time, I believe in celebrating each day of my life.
A birthday gift which is close to your heart?
I feel every birthday gift which I have received is
memorable. But yes, my first birthday after playing Gopi Bahu is unforgettable.
I got so much of love from my fans as they sent me handmade cards, gifts and
love messages which motivated me.
What’s your birthday wish?
To work harder and have a good health without diet
(laughs).
When are you coming back on-screen?
Very soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Your social media posts suggest you are trying to break
the Gopi Bahu image…
I have always tried to be Devoleena on social media. Gopi is really close to my
heart but that’s not me in real life. Devoleena is different.
How is Devoleena in real life?
Devoleena is a happy person. I am truthful to my
relationships, committed to my work, love animals and exploring new places. And
yes, little naughty yet a responsible daughter. 
Do people still call you Gopi Bahu?
They do, but I am happy that now people recognise me as Devoleena also.
What keeps you away from reality shows?
Nothing. I am all open to them. You might see me doing one in the future.
Any plans of settling down?
Having a partner is great and needing that special
company is natural.
Have you always been single?
Says who? I was and am committed to my work (laughs).
At which age did you begin dating?
Can’t reveal.
Who was your first crush?
Nature is my first crush I would say my heart goes out to
the amazing God-gifted places.

with?
