Bengali Actor Abhishek Chattarjee Passes Away At 58; Mamata Banerjee Offers Condolences, Calls Him 'Talented And Versatile'
Bengali actor Abhishek Chatterjee passes away at the age of 58
Bengali film and television actor Abhishek Chatterjee is no more. He died of a suspected heart attack in Kolkata in the wee hours of Thursday. He was 58. Abhishek is now survived by his wife and daughter.
He was unwell for the past few days. However, despite being unwell, Abhishek was shooting for his upcoming TV show 'Ismrat Jodi' and his condition deteriorated. He threw up a few times on the sets and the crew members immediately rushed for his help. The actor wasn't ready to go to the hospital and went home. His family members then called a doctor and he was given medical treatment. Sadly, he breathed his last, via TOI.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee offered condolences to his family. Taking to Twitter, she wrote, "Sad to know of the untimely demise of our young actor Abhishek Chatterjee. Abhishek was talented and versatile in his performances, and we shall miss him. It is a great loss for TV serials and our film industry. My condolences to his family and friends." Abhishek began his film journey with Path Bhola and later went on to act in many Bengali films. Some of his well known movies include Bariwali and Dahan.
Fans and friends of the actor are heartbroken. A Twitter user wrote, "Unbelievable. Shocked to learn about the untimely demise of prominent, versatile & most handsome Bengali actor #AbhishekChatterjee dada. It's an irreparable loss for his family & Tollywood. Deepest condolences RIP Om Shanti." Another one tweeted, "Shocked by the untimely death of the talented & versatile Bengali actor #AbhishekChatterjee (Mithu Da) I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans."
