Pornhub queen Mia Khalifa has been scaling great heights following her exit from the adult film industry. But, many have wondered how did she even begin her journey as a pornstar, in the first place?

The former adult film star has revealed that she was pressured into porn by her husband.

Mia Khalifa is only known to have spent a few months in the adult industry, and the 30-year-old quickly became one of the biggest performers around. Now, as she looks back at her journey, Mia admitted that it was 'one of the biggest' mistakes she's ever made. Speaking on Stephen Bartlett's 'Diary of a CEO' podcast, Khalifa, who now prefers to use her birth name, Sarah Joe Chamoun, opened up about her past. During the wide-ranging chat, Chamoun said that she was in an 'extremely abusive' relationship with someone who was 'grooming' her.

She reflected on her previous relationship and said that she felt like it was one 'a lot of girls get into when they're in their late teens'.

She said: “I got talked into eloping to Las Vegas four days after my 18th birthday,” continuing, “I didn't have a sense of self so I attached myself to someone who was more than happy to abuse that and someone who could see that and see someone easily manipulatable …but at the same time eager to please. It was just the perfect storm… "

She also claimed that it was her partner, who was in the US Army at that time, who pressured her into joining the porn industry saying he put 'that whole [porn] world in front of me and encouraged it'.

Sarah aka Mia was just 20 when she was handed a card by a porn scout. Soon after she showed it to her husband, she said he was very keen on the idea, which she put down to 'fetishisation'.

“I even feel weird calling it a relationship, because the dynamic was not one of a relationship – it was more one of someone who saw a toy to play with," she explained.

It was her infamous 'hijab scene' porn video-wearing Burqa that got her widespread spotlight and attention. The notorious video saw Mia having a threesome with Julianna Vega and Sean Lawless.

Previously, the former adult film star had opened up about it and claimed that she received death threats from ISIS as a result.

"They photoshopped a picture of me being beheaded and threatened that would happen to me," she told The Sports Junkies.

"The scenes containing a hijab are satirical," Chamoun told The Washington Post.

"There are Hollywood movies that depict Muslims in a much worse manner than any scene Bang Bros [the company who made the video] could produce."
