Pakistan has been facing a severe economic crisis and the nation’s condition continues to worsen. Amid the rising crisis, citizens have been facing grave challenges as there has been a steep hike in food, gas, and oil prices. While many have spoken out against the issues and the problems the Pakistanis have been facing, actor Ali Zafar has responded to a fan query during an #askAZ session which he hosted on Twitter. During the same, he shared his thoughts on Pakistan’s worsening economic conditions.

The Pakistani actor, singer and composer Ali Zafar, who debuted with the Bollywood film Tere Bin Laden and Chashme Baddoor, has responded to fan queries. During the interactive session, a netizen asked of the actor, "Give your thoughts on the current economic condition of the country?" The actor responded, "I predicted a long time ago. Get ready for a very difficult time to come. I will again say the same today. It’s sad."

To everyone’s surprise, the actor condemned Javed Akhtar’s recent comment about the 26/11 terror attacks he made during an event in Lahore this week. He pointed out that the remark was ‘insensitive’ and ‘uncalled for’. 

“I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. We all know how much Pakistan has suffered and continues to suffer at the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and uncalled-for remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people," he wrote on his Instagram stories. For the unversed, the ongoing economic crisis in Pakistan started in 2022 which ultimately led to an unprecedented hike in food, oil and gas prices. he country has doubled its debt roughly every five years over the last 25-year period, reported India.com.
