Pakistani Actress Anoushay Ashraf Extends Support To Shaan, After Being Trolled For His Eid Wishes; Says, ‘They Interpret Religion As A Divider Of People’
Bollywood’s renowned musician Shaan Mukherji recently became the victim of trolling and backlash, when he took to his social media handles to with his fans on the occasion of Eid. He had then taken to his Instagram to post a video message for the trollers requesting them to show compassion towards people who respect all religions. Many celebrities came out in support of the singer, including Pakistani actress and VJ Anoushay Ashraf. 

On April 26th, she took to her official Twitter handle to extend her support towards the musician. Through her tweet she expressed how they go through trolling and mockery even if they wish their fans on the occasion of Christmas. She added, “It's how zealots keep the fear, power & authority over us. They interpret religion as a divider of ppl & we follow like blind sheep. For the unversed, Shaan was brutally trolled by the netizens for posting a picture of himself praying while wearing a white kurta and a skullcap, that is worn by Muslims. While he proceeded to turn off the comment section for the post, later that day he posted a video responding to the backlash he received. Through his video he explained how his greeting was designed as a 'sign of respect and tolerance' towards other religions as everyone was celebrating their respective festivals “Eid, Parshuram Jayanti, and Akshay Tritya all in one day!”

For the unversed, Shaan is known as one of the leading playback singers of the country. He has left the audience mesmerised with his soulful voice and chart-topping songs from movies like Om Shanti Om, Taare Zameen Par and many others.
