Prince Harry Says He ‘Will Never Walk Away’ From The Royal Family; Reveals ‘We All Know What The British Press Can Be Like, It Was Destroying My Mental Health'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California last year after they stepped down from their roles as senior members of the Royal family. The couple made an official announcement in early 2020 on their Instagram account. Months after moving to the US, Prince Harry has opened up about his decision to leave his royal life in Britain behind. In an interview, The Prince explained how difficult it was for him and his family. He also spoke about never walking away from the Royal family.

Speaking with James Corden on The Late Late Show, The Prince opened up on how staying in England was destroying his mental health. On Thursday night, Prince Harry cleared up everything regarding his decision of stepping down from his Royal duties. He said he "will never walk away" from his family or falter in his dedication to helping others. Prince Harry said, "It was never walking away, it was stepping back rather than stepping down.” Referring to the Royal family, Harry also said, “Whatever decisions are made on that side I will never walk away.”

Talking about the reason behind the decision, Harry continued, "It was a really difficult environment as I think a lot of people saw. We all know what the British press can be like. It was destroying my mental health.” While the Prince opened up about the toll everything took on his family, he added, “This is toxic, so I did what any husband and what any father would do which is 'I need to get my family out of here' but we never walked away." He also mentioned he will always be contributing. Harry added, “My life is public service so wherever I am in the world it's going to be the same thing."

During the conversation, the Prince shared that he plans to continue being the same man he was when he worked as a senior member of the Royal family. Meanwhile, last Friday, Buckingham Palace confirmed in an official statement that the Prince and Meghan Markle will not return as working royals. On the personal front, Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their second child. The couple recently announced Meghan’s pregnancy.
