Banita was earlier roped in for casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut which was set to be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Vinod Khanna’s son, Sakshi Khanna too was reportedly a part of that film but the project was shelved.
And now Banita will foray into Bollywood with Varun by her side. October is a take on modern love but for the longest time, the film did not have a leading lady.
It was a surprise, because Varun has an impeccable box-office record and has also got good reviews from hard-to-please film critics.
Deepika Padukone, the star of Sircar’s Piku was the first one approached and she turned down the role.
Turns out, the film revolves around Varun’s character and the actress will have a small role in the film. Now that Banita has joined the cast, the shoot will go ahead on full steam.
