Rahul Khanna Shares Never-Seen-Before Photo Of Vinod Khanna At The Beach
Rahul Khanna took to Instagram to post a childhood image of himself and brother Akshaye playing with a shirtless Vinod Khanna at the beach
Rahul Khanna lost his father, Bollywood icon Vinod
Khanna, last week and today he shared a beautiful childhood photograph which
showed the family in happier times.
The black and white image was clicked while Rahul and
brother Akshaye were young children and enjoying a seaside vacation with their
superstar father. Take a look:
Rahul captioned the picture: "Feels like
yesterday."
The beautiful picture is a rare family photograph of Rahul and Akshaye with their father and a truly heartbreaking one.
Just a few years after the picture was taken, Vinod Khanna left his family to be by his guru Osho’s side in Oregon, US.
Rahul had flown back from the US (where he is based) to be by his ailing father’s side during his last days. Vinod Khanna passed away on 27 April after battling bladder cancer.
He was admitted to Hurkison Das hospital on April 1 and the family had tried to keep the news of his ill-health under wraps. When the news broke, Rahul had given a statement saying that “dehydration” had caused the hospital stint.
After Vinod Khanna’s death, the hospital had released a statement, making it clear that bladder cancer was the reason of the ‘70s superstar’s death.
Rahul and Akshaye were present at Vinod Khanna’s funeral which took place at Worli Crematorium on Thursday evening. The funeral was attended by family and several Bollywood celebs including Vinod Khanna's contemporaries such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Danny Denzongpa and Gulzar.
