Where are you staying nowadays?
I am in Bhopal. My husband (Ramneek) and I have a lovely penthouse.

Any plans of coming to Mumbai?
If and when work calls. I am open to working in films and television.



How did you and Ramneek meet?
We met on Facebook. We started liking each other and exchanged numbers.

What did you like about him on FB?
I saw his profile pictures (laughs).

Is Ramneek a straight guy?
Yes.

He is 15 years younger than you...
Doesn’t matter. Isn’t Saira Banu much younger than Dilip Kumar? Isn’t Aditya Pancholi much younger than Zarina Wahab? Pyaar kiya nahin jata, ho jata hai.

Was it easy for you to decide on the surgery?
Not really. You know how it is. Thinking is one thing, doing it is another. But Ramneek was very supportive. That made the difference.



How did you finally take the plunge?
Ramneek told me that we could marry only if I would get my sex changed. We have only one life. Why shouldn’t I live it to the fullest? I have never hidden anything, so how long could I go on being uncomfortable in my skin? (pauses)

The surgery happened in Bangkok. Ramneek had accompanied me. He is a solid support. We stayed there for 20 days. I underwent a lot of tests before the operation, it lasted for 5 hours.

Your dad had undergone a lot of trauma when you first told him that you are a woman trapped in a man’s body. Has he come to terms with your sexuality now?
Yes, and he loves Ramneek. On the other hand, Ramneek’s mom is very fond of me, she is from Mumbai.

Recently, I read a report saying that a man who used to be a woman earlier has become a father. Can you reproduce?
That might be difficult.

When did the wedding take place?
It happened in February, it was a private affair in Bhopal. After that, Ramneek and I flew out for our honeymoon to Singapore.
