Kabir Singh Box-Office Collections, Day 36: Shahid Kapoor Starrer Cruises Towards 300cr Mark
There’s no stopping Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh as the film has pocketed 274.36cr after its fifth week
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is still going super strong at the box-office and has managed to collect 274.36 cr so far! The film, which is the official Hindi remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy has been steady throughout all 5 weeks and will be reaching the 300 crore mark soon enough! The Sandeep Vanga Reddy directorial was amidst a controversy for Shahid Kapoor’s role and alleged glorification of misogyny and abuse. Despite all of this, the film has exceeded expectations and remained unaffected by the release of The Lion King and Super 30.
Trade Analyst Taran Adrash shared the latest numbers of Kabir Singh and wrote, “#KabirSingh continues its victorious run, despite multiple films eating into the market share + reduction in screens/shows... [Week 5] Fri 1.03 cr, Sat 1.65 cr, Sun 2.30 cr, Mon 82 lacs, Tue 82 lacs, Wed 77 lacs, Thu 71 lacs. Total: ₹ 274.36 cr. India biz.” The film made a business of 134.42cr in its first week, 78.78cr in its second week, 36.4cr in the third, 16.66cr in the fourth and 8.10cr in its fifth week.
SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh is as good as he was as Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met, if not more. Finally, the actor has made the right choice. After a spew of films that you wondered why he did them, he hits you hard and says, "I am back". Quite identified with his anger as long as it was not on the wrong side of the law; if you love somebody you ought to be fierce about your bloody feelings, else better not love. Do what your heart says is right, you have only one life. Don't think what the world will say, nobody can actually feel what you're undergoing and so they're just basically consoling you. Right, Sandeep Reddy Vanga (director)? Isn't just that what you are saying in KS?”
The director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has also helmed the original Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles.
