Soorma Box-Office Collection, Day 1: Diljit Dosanjh & Taapsee Pannu Starrer Collects Rs 3.25 Cr

Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu starrer, Soorma, has opened to box-office with an average collection. The Shaad Ali directorial has made Rs 3.25 crore on its first day. However, the buzz around the movie is great and reviews coming in are excellent. Trade has predicted that the film will shoot up well during the weekend.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the first day collections  and wrote, "Afterow start in morning shows [North India opening was good due to Diljit Dosanjh’s stardom], #Soorma gathered momentum from evening onwards... Is looking at substantial growth on Sat and Sun thanks to strong word of mouth... Fri ₹ 3.25 cr. India biz."

SpotboyE Editor, Vickey Lalwani rated the film 3 stars and was impressed with the work Shaad Ali has put together with fine talents like Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu. He said, "For those who thought after Kill Dil and OK Jaanu that Shaad Ali is over the hill, this one is for you. This Mani Ratnam protege touches your heart this time almost as much as he did with Saathiya. Innocence which is missing from our today's movies returns in his latest offering Soorma, which is made without any melodrama but yet engages you from its first frame till the last."

There is also a strong word of mouth about the film and it is likely that it will pick up through the weekend. Let's wait and watch how Soorma fares on its Day 2.
