Alia Bhatt To Play Sanjay Dutt’s Daughter In Sadak 2
Vishesh Films is all set to begin working on the sequel to the 1991 blockbuster, Sadak and if all goes well, Alia will join Sanjay in the project
26 years ago, when Sanjay Dutt fought against all odds to
win Pooja Bhatt’s love in Sadak (1991), it left viewers wanting more. The film
went on to become the highest grossing Hindi movie of that year and its songs
continue to resonate with the audience.
Now, Vishesh Films is all set to begin working on the
sequel of the blockbuster. While Sanjay Dutt has already been roped in, we hear
that Alia Bhatt might also feature in the project. If things so as per plan,
the actress will essay the role of Sanjay’s daughter in the film.
Says a source, “Sanjay and Mahesh Bhatt met up recently
and discussed Sadak 2. As they spoke about the cast, the first name that came
to Sanjay’s mind was that of Alia Bhatt. He thinks she will fit the role
perfectly.”
Sanjay and Mahesh have collaborated on movies like Naam
(1986), Kabzaa (1988), Sadak (1991), Gumrah (1993), Kartoos (1999) among others and share a close bond. Alia was a baby when
Sanjay was at the peak of his career. Hence, it came as no surprise to us that
the young actress was the top choice.
You may recall that Sanjay met Alia and Varun Dhawan a
day before the contemporary version of his hit song Tamma Tamma released.
When contacted Pooja Bhatt, she simply said, “Too early
to say anything except for the fact that Vishesh films, the Bhatts and Sanjay
Dutt are committed to the idea of turning the 'fantasy' of making Sadak 2 into
a reality! Where, what, with who? That time will certainly tell! Fasten your
seat belts!”
