Alok Nath Controversy: This Lady Was The First To Visit Vinta Nanda After She Was Allegedly Raped
The night after Vinta Nanda was raped and brutalised at her own house, her doorbell rang at 7:30am. A lady walked in, and was shocked to find Vinta in deep emotional and physical pain. She was worried and wanted to help. But the producer was in a state of shock to open about the brutality that had been unleashed on her the night before
Senior TV writer and producer Vinta Nanda recently opened up about being sexually violated, harassed and raped by Alok Nath, the actor of her hit TV show, Tara – the man popular on social media as ‘sanskari baapuji’ - mainly because of the kind of roles he has essayed on the small and big screen. In the wake of #MeToo movement, Vinta went public about the unfortunate night where she was brutally assaulted and raped, almost 20 years back. Talking about the incident in a long social media post, Vinta recounted horrid details. “I can remember more liquor being poured into my mouth and I remember being violated endlessly. When I woke up the next afternoon, I was in pain. I hadn’t just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised. The morning after, Vinta had a visitor at her house, a lady if you may, who was closely working with the producer in those days. She saw Vinta, raw with brutal injury and in deep emotional and physical pain. She was worried and wanted to help. She asked Vinta what had happened, but the producer was in a state of shock to open about the brutality that had been unleashed on her the night before. The lady was popular health author and celebrity nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar.
Rujuta remembers ringing Vinta’s doorbell at 7:30am sharp, the next morning. She recounts, “I was at Vinta’s house, early in the morning and was not prepared for what I saw. Vinta looked broken and she told me that she couldn’t get up from bed. She told me, “I’m in a bad shape, you please go back home.” Almost 20 years later, on October 8 when Vinta went public with the horrific details about the incident, and I read about it, I could point to that morning. It’s still fresh in my memory.”

Rujuta called up Vinta the day after she outed Alok Nath on social media, and via a series of media interviews. Rujuta asked her, “Now I understand what had happened, it was that morning, isn't it? " Vinta’s answer was in the affirmative. It was the morning after the same night where by her own admission, she was met with beastly and brutal sexual advances, but small screen’s biggest star, Alok Nath.
