Cancer Survivor Lisa Ray Writes To Ailing Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre is currently undergoing medical treatment in New York for high-grade cancer. As soon as Sonali made an official statement about her ailment, Bollywood came out to support in large numbers. One of them is cancer survivor, Lisa Ray, who joined the long list of celebrities who have showered Bendre with love and support.

Lisa Ray took it to social media and tweeted, “Dear @iamsonalibendre you are in my thoughts. Words often fall short and I’ve learned that okay, but I do want to send love.”

In 2009, Lisa Ray was diagnosed with a rare type of Cancer known as Multiple Myeloma. After undergoing a stem cell transplant in 2010, the Indo-Canadian actress announced that she was cancer free.

On Saturday, we also told you how Sonali found her inspiration Manisha Koirala, who trounced ovarian cancer. Manisha boosted Sonali’s confidence to stay strong through these tough times. Taking to Twitter, Manisha wrote, “@iamsonalibendre by the grace of god all will be fine and you will be back home soon with good news sending love n prayers my friend.”

To which, Sonali immediately replied, “Thank you Manisha, you are my inspiration.”

And then Manisha promptly replied to Sonali saying, “love you babe..and trust me you will shine more once its all done..more power to you sister!! we all are waiting for you here eagerly..healthy and strong!!”

Isn’t that heart-rending?

Meanwhile, back in Mumbai, celebrities have been visiting Sonali's sister-in-law Shrishti Arya, who also spoke to us about the unfortunate development.
