Earlier, SpotboyE.com had reported that actor Kartik Aaryan will be exiting the sequel of Dostana. The star cast of the film - Kartik, Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalvani was announced in 2019; however, there’s a change in the cast now as it was reported Kartik will be replaced due to creative differences. Well, now it is reported filmmaker Karan Johar has unfollowed Kartik Aaryan on Instagram after he exited the film. As per ETimes, a source revealed, ‘There is buzz that Kartik has expressed creative differences over the script of Dostana 2’.
However, as we went through KJo’s Instagram account to check his following list, and much to our surprise, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director’s following list didn't have Aaryan’s name. Nevertheless, the Luka Chuppi actor is still following him on Instagram. Kartik Aaryan who had already shot for 20 days was reportedly "unhappy with the script and was unable to allocate the desired dates for the shoot." The insider further revealed, the makers are not too happy and might decide to "go ahead with another actor."
After we reported that Kartik will no longer be associated with Dostana 2, the makers then dropped an official statement mentioning there will be a change in the cast. The statement of Karan's production banner read, "Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence-we will be recasting Dostana 2 directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”
After this statement was released, the rumours are rife that actors Rajkummar Rao or Vicky Kaushal will be replacing Kartik Aaryan in Dostana 2. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
