Hrithik Roshan On His Relationship With Ex-Wife Sussanne: “Love Can’t Turn Into Hate. If It’s Hate, It Wasn’t Love”
Recently, Hrithik spoke about his relationship with ex-wife Sussane and he had the best words to describe his fondness for her
We have seen several Bollywood couples, some are happily married, others are divorced. But, seldom do we see a couple who’s happy together post divorce. Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan can proudly serve as an example of ex-partners being close as BFFs.
They got divorced in 2014, but till today, we continue seeing them hanging out together, taking their children Hrehaan and Hridhaan for vacations and even on movie dates etc. In fact, their closeness even brought about speculations and hopes of a reconciliation and marriage once again. But, they have been pretty vocal that they are happy in the current space.
Now, in an interview with GQ, the actor spoke about his relationship with Sussanne. He said, "It’s a beautiful relationship. With our kids, with us as friends, it’s all about wisdom. One thing is for sure: Love can’t turn into hate. If it’s hate, it wasn’t love. The flipside of love Is also love. Once you understand that, you’ll keep finding ways back into love."
He further added, "In The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran talks about love being a temple that’s held up by two columns. If the columns become one, the temple will topple. The further apart they are, and the stronger they are, the bigger the temple of love. So, you have to respect each other’s individuality. It’s vital to be self-sufficient in your emotional needs. So, anything that comes from the other person is welcome, but you don’t demand it."
For those who don’t know, Sussanne had even walked up in support of the Roshans when Hrithik’s sister Sunaina had tweeted that they are “living in hell”. So, you see the warm camaraderie and affection that these ex-lovers share.
