PIL Filed Against Kedarnath Dismissed By High Court, Termed As A Publicity Stunt
Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in main roles, has been mired in several controversies, as objections were raised against the theme of the movie, which many term to be about love jihad. However, SpotboyE had exclusively revealed that the movie got cleared by the Censors with just 2 cuts.

While, we thought all is well for the movie, a man filed a Public Litigation Interest (PIL) raising objections. Now, he had to face a volley of questions from the bench headed by Chief Justice, AS Dave. Eventually, the Bombay High Court dismissed the PIL as a publicity stunt, reveals a Mumbai Mirror report.


“Do you know how many Vedas and Shashtras are there in the Hindu religion? What is your organisation? International Hindu Sena?" Such questions were asked by Jusice Dave to the petitioner who called for a ban on the movie. On Wednesday, the bench said, “The petition is a publicity stunt and I am imposing a cost while rejecting it.”


The man in question, who filed the PIL is Prakash Rajput, the president of the HIS. He claimed that the movie hurts religious sentiments of the Hindus as the movie depicts a Muslim boy at Kedarnath, that’s a Hindu pilgrim centre. The PIL also stated that the movie has a liplock and isn’t appropriate for family audiences. But, the court called it a ‘publicity stunt’ and imposed a fun of 5000 on the petitioner, dismissing it.

So, the ship is sailing smoothly, we can say!
