PM Narendra Modi Film Director Omung Kumar On Vivek Oberoi’s Tweet: “It Was A Mazaak, It Happened In A Wrong Way”
On Monday, Vivek Oberoi gave birth to a huge controversy after sharing a meme on his Twitter page that poked fun of his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her past relationships with Salman Khan, followed by the actor himself and eventually, her husband Abhishek Bachchan. The creative drew comparisons to the Exit Polls.

Naturally, it didn’t go well with the Twitterati and even celebrities who started bashing the actor on social media. From Sonam Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar to Urmila Matondkar, many celebs tweeted against the actor, making their displeasure evident.

Now, the director of his soon-to-release film PM Narendra Modi, Omung Kumar has lent his reaction. Speaking to Zoom TV, the filmmaker said, “Delete kar diya, apologise kar diya, by mistake ho gaya. It was a mazaak, it happened in a wrong way. Sometimes you think it’s funny and you should share it par kisi ko funny lagta hai toh kisi ko nahi lagta hai. People objected to it and he deleted it...sorry bol raha hai. There is nothing big about it...ho gaya, ho gaya. People laughed at the meme when they saw it...agar koi [object] kar deta hai toh wrong lagta hai.

He added, "I did not find it funny. There is nothing funny about it. But wrong judgement ho gaya, wo ho jata hai. Isse zyada disastrous things hue hain. This is nothing much." When asked if he feels it was a mistake on Vivek's part, to which he replied, "That I can’t say. It’s his prerogative. I am no one to judge. If I pass a judgement, I will also become a target of trolls."

For those unaware, Vivek has already apologised and deleted the tweet this morning. Also, last night, he stated that he didn’t think there was any need to make this political and even mocked Sonam Kapoor and questioned her work for empowerment of women. Furthermore, in another interview, he even told Sonam to overact less in films and overreact less on social media.

Meanwhile, Aish and Abhi have maintained silence and netizens have even been AB Junior to speak up. But, it seems like he prefers to let this pass!
