Post India Vs New Zealand match, Team India was knocked out of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Since then, there have been talks about Mahendra Singh Dhoni retiring from international cricket.

Soon after the Team India's defeated in the semi-final, his ardent fan and Lata Mangeshkar has asked him to reconsider retirement. The playback singer took to Twitter and penned a heartfelt tweet for MS Dhoni and now the latest one to join the bandwagon is Javed Akhtar by giving a solid reason on why Dhoni shouldn't retire.


Taking it to his Twitter handle, the lyricists Javed Akhtar wrote, "As a middle-order batsman or a WK MS Dhoni is a totally dependable n trustworthy. Virat is graceful enough to accept that Dhoni’s understanding of game is an advantage for the team. One can see that a lot of cricket is still left in Him. Why even talk about his retirement".


Well, the wicket-keeper batsman played a knock of 50 runs but was unable to take his side over the line against the Kiwis. Dhoni faced criticism during the ongoing World Cup for scoring runs at a slow pace.

India played their Semi-Final against New Zealand yesterday and sadly lost in the race to enter the World Cup 2019 finals. With the Indian Team out of the World Cup race, a lot of Bollywood celebs took to their social media and showed support to the Indian team.
