Pulwama Terror Attack: After Total Dhamaal, Luka Chuppi And Arjun Patiala Won’t Release In Pakistan
After makers of Total Dhamaal backed out from releasing their movie in Pakistan, due to the Pulwana terror attack, two other movies Luka Chuppi and Arjun Patiala too won’t release in the neighbouring country
On Thursday, the entire nation mourned the loss of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans who lost their lives in a horrifying act of terror perpetrated by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed. Several Bollywood celebs took to their social media pages to express grief and many of them like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn even offered financial aid to the families of the martyrs.
On Monday, the team of Total Dhamaal donated Rs 50 lakh to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives and also declared that they won’t be releasing the film in Pakistan. Now, following in their footsteps, Maddock Films Founder Dinesh Vijan also cancelled contract with Pakistan distributor and announced that he won’t be releasing the next two films Luka Chuppi and Arjun Patiala in the neighbouring country.
Also, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) called for a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes from working in India. This happened right after Raj Thackeray-led MNS asked record labels to drop singers from Pakistan. Soon, T-Series pulled down all Pakistani songs from their YouTube channel.
Speaking of the two movies, Luka Chuppi that stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles will be releasing on March 1, 2019, whereas Arjun Patiala starring Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh will release sometime in May this year.
