Shabana Azmi Reveals Her Parents Were Not In Favour Of Her Relationship With Javed Akhtar

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi though is fearless when it comes to expressing her opinions; she rarely spoke about her marriage with ace lyricist Javed Akhtar. Recently during her chat session with actress turned author Twinkle Khanna on YouTube, she shared her parents were not in favour when it came to her relationship with Javed Akhtar. The lyricist was already married to Honey Irani, before he tied the knot with Shabana Azmi. When she was asked was it difficult for her to sail through that phase, she replied it was ‘really tough’.
Also adding that people involved in it also gossiped about it; people who called her feminist, questioned her too on the same. The actress recalls explaining her perspective would only lead to gossip and speculations in the industry. Hence, the actress decided to remain tight-lipped, as people were aware of her equation with the celebrated lyricist in time. Shabana who has remained cordial with Javed Akhtar's kids- Zoya and Farhan Akhtar from his first wife, also spoke about Honey Irani during the conversation.
Shabana stated Honey never provoked them against her, instead, at a very young age, Zoya and Farhan to London along with them. The duo who bonded with Shabana at a very young age, has developed a healthy relationship with her.
