Shahid Kapoor Beats Salman-SRK At Box-Office; Kabir Singh Surpasses Lifetime Collections Of Kick And Chennai Express
After beating the lifetime collections of Salman Khan's Bharat, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh surpasses the box-office business of films like Kick and Chennai Express
Kabir Singh is having a dream run at the box-office. Though the film has found itself in the center of controversies, it didn't affect the film’s box-office standing. So much so that Shahid has beaten the Khans- Salman and Shah Rukh. After racing ahead of Bharat, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial surpassed the lifetime collections of Kick and Chennai Express.
The total collections of the film have now reached Rs 235.72 crore at the domestic markets, surpassing the lifetime collections of biggies like Kick and Chennai Express which is simply phenomenal. Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer collected Rs. 233.00 crore while Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer had raked in Rs. 226.70 crore.
Talking about the film, Kabir Singh entered the 200 crore club in just 14 days. SpotboyE.com Editor, Vickey Lalwani rated the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh is as good as he was as Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met, if not more. Finally, the actor has made the right choice. After a spew of films that you wondered why he did them, he hits you hard and says, "I am back". Quite identified with his anger as long as it was not on the wrong side of the law; if you love somebody you ought to be fierce about your bloody feelings, else better not love. Do what your heart says is right, you have only one life. Don't think what the world will say, nobody can actually feel what you're undergoing and so they're just basically consoling you. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who also helmed the original Telugu film, Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.
