Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: NCB Reveals Rhea Chakraborty Was Arrested ‘Owing To Her Links With Drug Trafficking Network’

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in the drug probe linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case on September 9. After several rounds of interrogation with the Narcotics Control Bureau, Rhea was arrested by the agency and was sent to the initial judicial custody of 14 days. However later, the actress’ custody was extended till October 6. A special Mumbai court rejected Chakraborty siblings’ initial bail plea and the judge said Rhea could tamper with evidence if released. NCB in its recent statement claimed that Rhea was arrested due to her links with the Drug Trafficking Network
India Today quoted the Narcotics agency saying, “The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate, in which there were various chats related to drugs consumption, procurement, usage and transportation. Taking cognisance of the matter, NCB conducted a preliminary enquiry and launched an investigation in this matter.”
They further claimed, “Her statement was also recorded in case crime number 15/2020, in which she dwelled into other aspects, where violations of provisions of NDPS were noted. The digital forensics of seized communication devices led to some workable information which was verified subsequently.”

Giving out the information about the drug peddlers, NCB said, “Zaid disclosed that he runs an eatery shop at Bandra, which was not giving any pecuniary gains since lockdown. He also disclosed that he is into drug peddling, especially bud, through which he used to earn a substantial amount of money. Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant used to collect the said contraband and provided it to Sushant Singh Rajput after making joints. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested after her voluntary statement. Meanwhile, Kaizan was apprehended wherein he stated that he used to procure drugs from one Anuj Keshwani,” said the agency.
