Sushmita Sen's Daughter Renee On Her Debut Film Suttabaazi; Says She's Not A Smoker, 'My Lungs Were Gone By The End'
Sushmita Sen’s daughter Renee Sen is all set to mark her debut as an actor with the upcoming short film ‘Suttabaazi’ which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.  In the film, she will be seen playing the role of a 19-year-old girl Diya Kumar, a secret smoker, and her life amid lockdown with her nagging parents. The trailer shows Renee smoking in a few scenes. In a recent interview, Renee was asked how she managed to look so convincing while smoking.

In a conversation with The Quint, Renee Sen said that she isn’t a smoker in real life. “By the end of it, my lungs were gone. Because I’m not a smoker. Did I look convincing? If I did, then thank you. I did hold a cigarette to get comfortable.” She also added that we often watch movies in which the actors are smoking, and that may have subconsciously registered. “And we watched movies where there are actors smoking. So I think subconsciously you see and that registers, so maybe that helps,” she said.

Speaking about her teenage days, and comparing it with her own character in the film, Renee said that she is partly like her character. “I’m partly like that. I was slightly rebellious, very naughty, so it was easier to portray the character. Being on the phone, it’s very me. Not addicted, but yeah.”

Suttabaazi will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on January 10, 2021. Apart from Renee, the short film also stars Rahul Vohra and Komal Chhabria as Diya's parents. ALSO READ: Sushmita Sen's Daughter Renee Wants To Have An Identity Of Her Own; Expresses She Is 'Aware Of The Privileges
