Chutzpah Actress Aashima Mahajan Recounts A Horrifying Incident Of Being Abused By A Guy On A Matrimonial Site
Aashima Mahajan, who was recently seen in web show Chutzpah, tells us a disturbing incident which she faced on a matrimonial site
Singer-actor Aashima Mahajan, who has been hugely appreciated for her stupendous performance in SonyLIV and Maddock Outsider’s latest web show, Chutzpah insists that she had thoroughly enjoyed portraying her role as a social media influencer.
Aashima’s character Deepali in the show is a digital celebrity and an inspiration to millions of her followers, but she lacks the confidence to face the real world. Aashima feels the duality of her character is its USP, as she informs, “Most people who lack self-confidence seek validation and since Deepali is an influencer herself, she seeks validation on social media. This is happening on various social media apps where people use fake profiles and pictures. There’s a huge difference between real-world and social media. What you may come across on social media may not be the real person. You may be subjected to a projection that they want to achieve for themselves. The gorgeous actress recounts a horrifying incident of being abused by a guy from a matrimonial site. “I have had a very bad experience recently,” recollects Aashima, elaborating, “My parents had put up my profile on a matrimonial site. I got a proposal from a guy recently and since my parents requested me to speak to him once, I agreed to it. When I spoke to him, he started the conversation on a good note and spoke about girls being liberal. Gradually, the conversation veered towards my sexual preferences and I was taken aback. When I refused to comment on it, he started abusing me on chat with sexual remarks. Later, I blocked his number and also filed a complaint against him. “There are so many frustrated individuals out there (on social media) who have that duality factor in them and sport two different personalities. ‘Chutzpah’ also talks about this duality aspect,” adds Aashima.
