If you don’t have an idea about what The Family Man is, you are surely living under a rock. The Family Man came on Amazon Prime Video in September 2019 as a dark comedy-drama thriller about a field officer working for a secret task force for the Government of India and how he struggles to manage his work and life balance. This Raj & DK directorial featuring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role of Srikant Tiwari became an instant hit and struck a chord with the audience.
With time, it’s following and success only grew, and its second season soon became one of the most anticipated web shows of the country. The Family Man 2 finally dropped on June 3 and the show has been getting rave reviews since, being hailed as the perfect sequel to the amazing season 1. The show is notable for its casting with every role seeming tailor made for the actor portraying it. One such actor is Sharib Hashmi, who plays JK Talpade, Srikant’s friend and colleague. However, even the cast of the show wasn’t aware of this tease. “No, I had no idea about it. I saw it at the same time the rest of the audience saw it. We completed shooting for the whole season 2 in February 2020 and the monster that Covid-19 became in India, it happened in March 2020,” Sharib reveals.
