The most anticipated festival in India is Ganesh Chaturthi the festival which is also known as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ but this festival is most popular in Maharashtra State in the country. 

‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ is celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha for 10 days. While this Mahotsav, few sweets and savory dishes are made and offered to Ganpati Bappa as a prasad(Bhog), and then it is distributed among the devotees.

Let’s have a mouth-watering tour and a complete list of sweet and savory Maharashtrian Ganesh Chaturthi Recipes. However, all the recipes are very easy to make and beginner-friendly as well.

So we will start with the recipe of Modak which is very favorite Bhog to Lord Ganesha. Therefore, it has special importance during the festival of Ganesh Utsav. Talking about Modak, traditionally, Modak has sweet stuffing made from coconut and jaggery. We have variations and nowadays there are many fusion versions are also available. Let's have a look…

1.      Ukadiche Modak or Steamed Modak
Steamed Modak recipe s very easy to prepare and also it is a very soft, melt-in-your-mouth kind outer layer stuffed with chewy, sweet coconut filling. They have the perfect combination of flavors and textures. The ingredients we need are – Coconut, Jaggery/Sugar Powder, Poppy Seeds, and Maida. Modak is very dear to Ganpati Bappa so offer it and then distribute it among the visitors. 

2.      Coconut Ladoo  with Condensed Milk 
Coconut laddoo is very easy to make and very delicious also. The recipes of Coconut ladoo with condensed milk are adored by everyone! These are suggested not to be missed and it has full of coconut flavor with a perfectly sweet taste. The ingredients are – Coconut, Condensed Milk, Cardamom Powder, and Nuts and offer it to Bappa. 
 
3.      Sheera (Sooji Halwa) 
Sheera or Halwa is atypical Indian sweet (dessert) made on special occasions or festivals. This is a simple, quick, and easy-to-make dish with minimal and basic ingredients. The ingredients we can use are – Semolina, Ghee, Almonds, Sugar, Cardamom powder, and water.  After steaming for few minutes offer it to Lord Ganesha and distribute as Prasad among the visitors. 

4.      Puran Poli (Chapati)
The mouth-watering sweet Puran Poli is traditional Indian stuffed bread with sweet lentil filling. For making its stuff we need Gram Dal, Jaggery and Cardamom. Wheat flour is required for making balls to stuff and Ghee to shallow fry Puran Poli. Then offer it to Lord Ganesha and distribute among the devotees. 

5.      Besan Barfi with no sugar syrup)
Besan Barfi (Gram Flour Barfi) is perfectly sweet with great texture and can be made with very few basic ingredients -gram flour, ghee, sugar, and semolina. This recipe is a beginner-friendly recipe and no sugar syrup is made, so very easy and quick to prepare to offer Ganpati Bappa.
