In the first of its kind collaboration India’s celebrated music director duo Vishal-Shekhar have collaborated with the British Band The Vamps for the song Beliya.
Initiated by Bottomline Media and Virgin EMI Records, this is the first of many collaborations to come. The song was conceptualized and recorded in London by Vishal-Shekhar adding the essence of Indian music with the vocals of the top of the charts band.
“It was super to work with the Vamps, they are good guys and extremely talented. We went in not really knowing each other, but within a few minutes of being there, they had taken the song that we had created for them, and added their own vibe to it. There was a comfort and joy to the sessions we did and that is something I think you can hear in the track. They really love India, especially the food and the music, while we really enjoy the music of the UK, so we were all on the same page from the word 'Go'. The song is a celebration of the two cultures and of the fun we had!,” say Vishal-Shekhar in a press statement.
According to The Vamps: "We had a great time recording with Vishal-Shekhar and it was fun to try something different to what we are used to. We are really excited for everyone to hear the single. It was fun showing them around London and we hope they will return the favour next month when we visit Mumbai. India is a country we have wanted to visit since we started as a band, especially as we have such an incredible, loyal fan base there; we just can't wait to come over," said The Vamps.
