Yashika Aannand Narrates Ordeal Of How The Car Accident Took Place; Tamil Actor Clarifies She Was Not Drunk Or Intoxicated
Tamil actress and Bigg Boss star Yashika Aannand, who met with an accident last month, has now been discharged from the hospital. She was injured and her friend Pavani passed away, after the car they were travelling in met with an accident on the East Coast Road in Chennai. The accident took place on July 24. In an interview, the former Bigg Boss contestant spoke about losing her best friend in a car crash. She spoke about how she’s coping in the aftermath of the incident.

Speaking with The Hindu, Yashika Aannand explained the events of the last few days. She said, “Pavani is my best friend of around six years; she used to be a model, but later gave that up to go work abroad as an engineer. She’d flown down to India this year to spend time with her parents in Hyderabad, and then came to Chennai to see me.”

Yashika recalled, “On July 24 (Saturday), four of us had driven to a resort in ECR to have dinner. We left the place at around 11 pm, and were returning back into the city, which is when the accident happened. I was the one driving my Tata Harrier, but I definitely wasn’t speeding.”

Yashika further discussed what exactly transpired. She mentioned that the road was “really dark” and she “unfortunately hit the divider.” Yashika continued, “Our car drifted sharply and then toppled over three times. Pavani was in the co-passenger’s seat, but she hadn’t put her seatbelt on and the window was open as she was getting some air. So when the crash happened, she was flung out of the open window and fell outside, hitting her head.” Also Read: Actress Yashika Aannand’s License Confiscated By Chennai Police After She Meets With An Accident-REPORT

The actress mentioned that the rest of her friends were inside the car. She shared that because the doors were jammed, they had to break open the sunroof to escape. Yashika mentioned how a huge crowd gathered around the accident spot, within minutes of the incident. She shared, “I wasn’t able to even stand up and I felt like my entire body was paralysed. We all were then shifted to the hospital.”

“Only when I recovered, I got the news that Pavani had passed away,” the former Bigg Boss contestant said with a shudder.

“I have to stress on this: I was not drunk or intoxicated, or using drugs of any kind. It was an unfortunate accident that happened out of nowhere, because of a moment’s lapse in concentration. And for that, I take full responsibility,” Yashika Aannand added. She mentioned she is “wrecked by the guilt of staying alive” and said she now has to live forever with it. She even said, “I wish I had not survived. But that doesn’t mean I’m accepting everything that is said about me on social media.” Also Read: Vijay Deverakonda's NOTA Co-star And Tamil Actress Yashika Aannand Critical After Car Accident
