Ekta Kapoor: 'Ridhi Dogra Was Scared To Do The Married Woman As It Talks About The Same Sex Relationship And How It Will Portray Women'
Ridhi Dogra, who is glowing with all the accolades for her dazzling performance as the central character– Astha in ALTBalaji's one of the most talked about shows, The Married Woman, had initially refused the offer. Yes, you read it right!

In a recent interview, the show's producer Ekta Kapoor revealed, "The first time I sent the script of The Married Woman to Ridhi, she told me that she doesn't want to do the show since it talks about a same-sex relationship and I am very scared on how it portrays women. I told her that I am personally involved in this show. Then the show's director, Sahir Raza, came into the picture, and he is one of the most interesting men I have met, he is a feminist and comes from a great lineage. He asked me how will we normalize two women if we don't show them kissing, hugging, or holding each other. I told him that it should not look sleazy since I have made this show from the heart, and I want it to come out real, and he said leave it to me. The idea was to normalize it on the one hand and the other not make it provocative for men or for anybody to find it exciting in a way that is not relatable." On her part, Ridhi Dogra added, "I think I had read the first draft of the show, which we were not supposed to since that wasn't the final one. The sensitivity that all of them had, including Ekta and the show's creative team, came on board had put me at ease. I met Sahir after lockdown, and we spoke about the show and our respective characters and the world that they were going to create. There was a lot of responsibility, and everything happened with a sensitivity that I don't think there came a day when I doubted my decision to be part of the show after that. I was excited that a bunch of really creative people, have got together to make this beautiful show, and not letting anything go off-tone, even during rehearsals. So I think it's all of us coming together and kudos to Ekta Kapoor for bringing us together!" The series adapted from Manju Kapur's novel, 'A Married Woman' addresses various other social issues and taboos that people don't see fit for day-to-day conversation. Present in subtle forms in almost all sections of society, making it an essential series to find solutions to all kinds of discrimination.

Starring in the series is also Monica Dogra. Along with these two incredible women, there is Suhaas Ahuja, Imaad Shah, and various others.

Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium Co-Star Saba Qamar Breaks Up With Fiance Post Sexual Harassment Row; Actress Says, 'Never Met Azeem Khan In My Life'
Saba Qamar who is one of the biggest names in the Pakistani industry and had also acted in Bollywood film 'Hindi Medium' with later actor Irrfan Khan has called off her impending marriage plans with fiance Azeem Khan. The actress recently broke the internet after announcing she is getting married to Azeem Khan – a blogger and entrepreneur. However, today the actress took her social media to announce she is not getting married to him.

In her post, Saba wrote, "Hi everyone! I have a very important announcement to make, due to a lot of personal reasons I have decided to call it off with Azeem Khan. WE ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED NOW. Hope you guys will support my decision just like you all have been supporting me always, and I guess it's never too late to realise the bitter realities. I also wanted to clear ONE IMPORTANT thing that is: I have never met Azeem Khan in my life we were only connected over the phone. It's a very hard time for me right now but as we all know 'this too shall pass' Insha Allah. Much love to you all".  ALSO READ:Irrfan Khan Death: Hindi Medium Co-Star Saba Qamar Left Heartbroken And 'Deeply Disturbed'

For those who are unaware, Saba's fiancé and entrepreneur Azeem Khan was embroiled in controversy since a woman accused him of sexual harassment not long after he announced his engagement to Saba. The entrepreneur addressed the allegations in a video message posted on Instagram and denied accusations. And Saba commented her support to him by writing, "I trust you with a heart emoji".
In his video, Azeem said, "I really want to thank all of you for showing immense love and support from the last two days. There were some people who said strange things and I really wanted to reply to them through a video message. I only want to say one thing, what is the point of uploading statues on social media. Let’s come through a proper channel,” Khan claimed, adding: I don’t care about Saba’s past, neither does she care about mine. I don’t understand that why people make false accusations without knowing the fact and reality. You are ruining someone’s life just for fame. Our intentions are to purely settle down our relationship in a proper way which is ‘Nikkah’. Such people should be ashamed of what they are doing. I don’t care about Saba’s past, she doesn’t care about my past, the thing which matters to us is our future. Trust me we don’t care what people are saying. You are putting in an effort which will not lead you to any point. I hope that people will understand what I said and they will not waste their time now in spreading false news".

Now we wonder if this controversy has forced the actress to take the decision reasoning it out for a personal reason.
