Kawach 2: Deepika Singh’s Character Named Sandhya Again! Co-incidence Or Strategy?
Sometimes we make name for ourselves, and then there are times when a name makes us! Deepika Singh has experienced the second case as the talented actress became a household name with her character IPS Sandhya Rathi in STAR plus’ Diya Aur Bati, which had a run of 5 years. People started addressing her with the name Sandhya more than Deepika. And now, good news is that she is returning to the small screen with Kawach 2, and her character is yet again named, Sandhya.

We spoke to Deepika Singh, about Kawach 2, in which the actress has been paired with Namik Paul. During our conversation, we questioned Deepika about sticking to the name, Sandhya yet again. And the actress replied, “It’s just a coincidence. When I auditioned for the show, the name was already decided along with the concept its concept. I guess the Universe conspired so that I get the same amount of love and support from my fans yet again. I hope and pray that the show gets immense love and acceptance.”


Talking about the show, the first promo of Kawach 2 is already out, where Deepika is seen in a special Shiv temple, where she comes across Kaal (evil lady). Watch the video below: 


Interestingly, Deepika is collaborating with Ekta Kapoor for the first time. When we asked her about returning to TV (as the actress was on a maternity break post Diya Aur Bati Hum went off-air) and that too with the TV Czarina, Deepika replied, "I am very excited for Kawach 2 as I am already in love with the concept. Also, I have immense respect for Ekta Kapoor and always wanted to work with her production house (Balaji Telefilms) which is finally happening now and I cannot be happier. But I will definitely not call this show as my comeback as recently my web series Halala streamed on Ullu App and managed to get a good response.”


You may recall, SpotboyE.com was the first one to tell you about the sequel of the supernatural show, which had Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya in the first season. We had also told you that Deepika Singh has grabbed Season 2, and how, thanks to Ekta Kapoor, Namik Paul got the lead role in the show, instead of Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. We had also spoken to Mona Singh about the sequel and she had told us, "Yes, Kawach 2 is coming. And I did get approached for it, after all it’s my show. But my schedule is packed for almost 5-6 months. Hence, I will not be a part of it. But I am equally excited for it to go on-air and I will be glued to the TV screen.” When asked if her fans will miss her, Mona had replied, "I don’t think so, but still if they miss me, I will request them to watch the show with the new star cast and give them equal love.”
