Not too long ago, Barun Sobti was all praises for his Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3 co-star Shivani Tomar. He said the character Chandni was apt for the actress, who is a “very sweet girl and looks extremely promising”.

The first season saw Barun romancing Sanaya Irani, in the third he has been cast opposite Shivani.

"I personally saw Shivani's audition, and it feels like the character was made for her. She's a very sweet girl and looks extremely promising. Very glad to be working with her," Barun had said in a statement.

There is a strong undercurrent of tension between the two, and there is a constant banter of one-upmanship going on between the two when the cameras are not rolling. Ritu plays Barun's arch-enemy on the show and looks like their reel life has influenced their real life as well. That Ritu went on to deny it, saying, "We have a fab team and we have a fab time. I adore him (Barun Sobti). Barun has great work ethics," is a different story.
