Week 1 (December
30- January 5) of 2018 began on a surprising note. For, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah
Chashmah beat the favourites – Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya – to clinch the
numero uno position.
The comedy show
has been a consistent performer in 2017 and this week, it went a step further
in proving its popularity.

Ekta Kapoor’s
Kundali Bhagya registered a minor dip in its ratings and was at No. 2. Kumkum
Bhagya occupied the fourth position in Week 1.

Another set of
shows which showcased a substantial improvement in their performance are Super
Dancer 2 and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
The former was the
third most-watched show, while the latter climbed the ladder by two positions
and acquired the 5th position.

Bigg Boss 11
makers would not be pleased with Week 1 results. The controversial reality show
which has managed to keep fans hooked until now was OUSTED from Top 10. This is
a shocking development since Bigg Boss 11 is nearing its end and usually a
show’s ratings peak close to the finale. However, that’s not the case here. Its
ratings seem to be dropping with every passing week. Is the lack of conflict
inside the house a probable reason?

Finally, Shakti –
Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki shot up by one position. The show stood at 7th spot
(it was at No. 8 last week). However, it continues to showcase a fluctuating
performance and is mostly restricted to the bottom of the barrel.
