Rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh got separated from his wife Shalini Talwar nearly after ten years of marital bliss. Reportedly, the ex-couple, who got married in 2011, are now officially divorced and has moved on in their respective lives. But did you know how much Honey Singh paid as alimony to Shalini after District Court Saket accepted their divorce plea? Well, the whopping amount that the singer paid will make your jaw drop.
As per a report in Bollywoodshaadis, the rapper paid a hefty amount of Rs. 1 crore as alimony to Shalini. Yes, you read that right! It is being said that they both are satisfied with the decision and are now moving forward in their lives. The report added that Honey gave a cheque of Rs. 1 crore in an envelope to Shalini during their court proceedings. For the unversed, Shalini Talwar had filed for divorce on the grounds of domestic violence and infidelity. She also demanded compensation and regular alimony in crores. In August 2021, Yo Yo Honey Singh broke his silence on Shalini’s accusations via a public statement on his Twitter handle. An excerpt of his statement read, “I am deeply pained and distressed by the false and malicious allegations levied against we and my family by any companion/wife of 20 years, Mrs. Shalini Talwar. The allegations are severely odious. I have never issued a public statement or press note in the past despite being subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health, & negative media coverage in general. However, I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed at my family — my old parents and younger sister — who have stood by me during some very difficult and trying times and comprise my world. The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature.”
In terms of work, Honey Singh has many blockbuster hit songs to his credit. He took a break for a few years and made a smashing comeback with the revamped version of Dil Chori in the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. His last song titled ‘Ka Kha Ga’ was released this year in June. This year, Yo Yo made headlines after he was spotted bonding with superstar Salman Khan at IIFA 2022.
