Tom Holland On Spider-Man Leaving Marvel, “I’m Going To Continue Playing Spider-Man And Having The Time Of My Life”
Tom Holland is a talented actor and has thrilled all the Marvel Cinematic Universe fans with his performance as Spider-Man in his films. The actor has played the role of Superhero Spiderman in the popular franchise. The news of Spider-Man’s character leaving Marvel has come as a huge shock to the fans worldwide and the split between Disney and Sony has led to this. Finally, Tom Holland addressed Disney’s controversial decision to remove Spider-Man from MCU following their ongoing rift with Sony Pictures.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Tom Holland spoke in brief about his character’s exit from Marvel. Tom said, “Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however, we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”

Marvel’s President Kevin Feige also spoke on the same. “I’m feeling about Spider-Man gratitude and joy. We got to make five films within the MCU with Spider-Man: two standalone films and three with the Avengers. It was a dream that I never thought would happen. It was never meant to last forever. We knew there was a finite amount of time that we’d be able to do this, and we told the story we wanted to tell, and I’ll always be thankful for that,” he said.

Although the ongoing rift between Disney and Sony Pictures, Tom made an appearance at Disney’s ultimate fan event D23 Expo in order to promote his Pixar film Onward. The actor took to the stage to address the issue before leaving. Tom said, “Listen, it’s been a crazy week, but I want you to know, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.” The actor ended by quoting Tony Stark’s iconic line from Avengers: Endgame, “And I love you 3,000”, proving that he values his bond with the Marvel superheroes.

Disney and Sony Pictures have been sharing the brand Spider-Man since 2015 and recently this week, they broke the news about ending the partnership due to disagreement in co-financing. Sony Pictures own the rights of the film to the iconic Spider-Man and years ago, the studios struck a deal with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who would help produce Sony’s Spider-Man solo films, allowing Tom Holland to appear in the MCU, starting with his appearance in 2016 film Captain America: Civil War. Further on Tony Stark’s Iron man popularity was used to bring back the Spider-Man franchise, where Holland got his first solo film with Spider-Man: Homecoming; well, he came back as the superhero with his second solo movie Spider-Man: Far From Home this year.

Tom Holland recently took to his Instagram to share a picture with Marvel’s Avenger Iron Man aka Tony Stark as they both posed with models of their characters.
