Former Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli is mired in several controversies, and here comes another one that has landed him in further trouble. He has been arrested for illegal possession of 41 bottles of scotch whiskey by the Excise department. As per law, one cannot store more than 12 alcohol bottles at home, but Armaan had over 41 bottles and most of them were foreign brands.
A report in Times of India suggests that his Juhu residence was raided by Bandra excise department on Thursday night. The cops arrested Kohli and questioned him till late in the night. Excise officials stated that they are still trying to figure out the cost of the bottles that were purchased from abroad.
Under Section 63(E) of Bombay Liquor Prohibition Act, 1949, the actor can face upto three years imprisonment and also can be levied a fine decided by the court, if proven guilty.
In the past couple of years, he has been embroiled in several controversies. Some weeks back, a woman named Nadia Aheli lodged an FIR against Armaan Kohli for allegedly abusing and threatening her. In fact, SpotboyE was the first one to report this and Nadia had exclusively spoken to us, sharing her ordeal. Armaan had surrendered himself on December 12 and was later released on bail.
Prior to this, his ex-girlfriend Neeru Randhawa had also filed a complaint on the grounds of being subjected to physical assault at the hands of Kohli. Her pictures with bruises on her face were all around on web. He had absconded for more than a week; was later arrested in Lonavala and produced in Bandra court. However, Neeru withdrew the case later. SpotboyE had exclusively spoken to Neeru sometime back and she had quashed all of his allegations and given a detailed account of all that transpired.
Clearly, this man has no respite from troubles. Stay tuned for more updates on the story.
