David Dhawan Had Second Thoughts About Remaking Govinda Starrer Coolie No 1
The remake of Coolie No 1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in main roles has been making headlines of late. Now, the director David Dhawan revealed that he had second thoughts about remaking the hit classic
Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No. 1 remake has been hitting the headlines of late. For the film, the makers have zeroed down on two locations- Bangkok and Goa. However, we recently learned that initially, David Dhawan had second doubts about remaking this film.
The filmmaker said in a statement, "After re-watching the original, I started working on the script. For six months, I wondered if I should make it or not." He further added, "Finally, I decided to adapt it. It's actually a new film. I've worked on it for almost a year with the original writer Rumi Jaffery on the screenplay and Farhad Samji on the dialogue."
As the film is being remade, it will have some super iconic songs amongst which is going to be Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha from the original part. According to a Times Of India report, given the popularity of the track, makers are planning to present a reprised version of the song to add a bit of nostalgia amongst its viewers. But the discussion on the same is at a very compromising stage.
On the work front, Varun is currently shooting for the Remo D’souza film Street Dancer 3D which will be releasing on January 24, 2020, whereas, Sara will be next seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film which is set to release on February 14, 2020.
