Shahid Kapoor has received appreciation as well as flak for his solo starrer Kabir Singh. The actor is trending while the film crosses 250 crore at box-office making it the highest grosser of 2019. Kabir Singh is the remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. During the promotions of his upcoming film Dear Comrade, Vijay revealed he has no interest in watching Shahid’s Kabir Singh.

In a report by Cinema Express, when Vijay was quizzed if he had seen Kabir Singh, the actor said, "Shahid has done that film, and he has gone through the character, and there is nothing for me to watch it again. I know the story, I have done that film, why will I watch again?" Vijay also added, "I wanted the Hindi film to be a big hit because Sandeep is my man. But unexpectedly, it became a blockbuster. Done. No more discussion there." 


While the Telugu star seems to be disappointed by Kabir Singh not turning into a hit film, but instead a blockbuster, Shahid and Kiara’s acting, and director Sandeep’s effort have brought massive success for the film.


Recently, there were reports that Mr Kapoor has hiked his fee post the film’s super-success. According to a report by the Mumbai Mirror, the actor has reportedly hiked his fees to Rs. 35 Crore a film. Earlier Shahid was reported to be charging a whopping amount of Rs. 30 Crore a film, but since the film has taken off quite well amidst the rumors and controversies surrounding it, the actor is aiming to become one of the highest paid actors in the industry.
