Pranali Rathore, Harshad Chopra and Shreyansh Kaurav starrer Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been running successfully for almost 15 years now. Having started the journey with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra, the Rajan Shahi production is not only one of the most-watched shows in India but it also often tops the weekly BARC ratings. The last few episodes of the show have centred around the budding relationship between Abhimanyu and Akshara as they take care of Abhir together.
In the upcoming episode of the show it will be seen that the Birla and Goenka families come together for the Janmashtami celebrations. It will be seen how a set of ladies will subtly prevent Akshara from performing any tasks. Abhimanyu, Manish and the rest of the family pick up on it. On the other hand, Shefali and Abhimanyu have a heart-to-heart talk. She asks him if he fought with Akshara. When Abhimanyu questions how she knows about it, Shefali says that his face shows all his emotions. He goes on to explain that he accused her of Neil’s death again by reminding her of what happened six years ago. Shefali suggests that Abhimanyu should apologise to Akshara and not mess up their budding relationship again. As the families and other people gather around for the celebration, Swarna asks Akshara to open the Jhanki. One of the ladies stops her by stating that she can’t participate in the festival as she is a widow. Akshara stands up for herself and asks them to show her the book in which such stuff is written. She schools them for following age-old practices and tying her entire identity to her dead husband. Abhir and Ruhi too stand up for Akshara. As Ruhi calls the ladies bad, Abhir states that they need to go back to school and get educated. The families also stay adamantly on Akshara’s side and decide to leave with her. Just as the ladies are unable to open the Jhanki, Abhir takes his mother’s hand and asks her to open the knot as she is a true devotee of Kanha. Akshara opens the jhanki with much effort and everyone asks for her forgiveness.
In the upcoming episodes of the serial, it will be seen that Akshara and Abhimanyu will get into a fight as they celebrate the dahi-handi festival.
