Over the past few months, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis player Sania Mirza have been ruling the headlines. From rumours about the former cheating on his wife with actress Ayesha Omar, to her sharing cryptic posts about heartbreak and finding strength on her social media handles, speculations regarding their separation have been doing the rounds on the internet for quite some time now. Now, during an interaction, the cricketer has finally opened up about the rumours.
While talking to a Pakistani news channel, Shoaib addressed the rumours surrounding his married life. Quoted by India Times, he said, “Nothing on it.” However, on the occasion of Eid, he went on to reveal that it would have been great had they been together. He went on to explain how they have been busy with their professional commitments. The cricketer shared that Sania is busy doing shows in the India Premier League (IPL). The 41-year-old sportsman said, “She is doing shows in the IPL. That's why we are not together. We share love like always. I miss her a lot, that I can say. There are (professional) commitments. But Eid is a day when you miss a lot of the people who are close to you. Even Ayesha had opened up about the baseless rumours and revealed that she will never be attracted to committed men. She had told Shoaib Akhtar on his chat show that the people who are close to her know this about her.
For the unversed, Sania and Shoaib got married in April 2010. The couple welcomed their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, eight years later. It was being heavily rumoured that Shoaib Malik cheated on Sania with model Ayesha Omar. Their intimate photos from a photo shoot went viral on social media, with many wondering if Ayesha was the reason behind the couple’s split.
